Photographer
Sue is the co-owner of Bluewood Gallery and a photographer for over 30 years. She worked commercially in advertising, but really enjoys the art side of the medium. While working full-time at a marketing career, she studied photography at both New York City’s School of Visual Arts and New York University at night.
She has had her work shown at the School of Visual Arts in New York City, the Dallas Center for Contemporary Arts, Stratford Green Gallery in Lewisville, Texas and Mud, Wind & Fire Gallery in Grapevine, Texas before moving to Brevard, NC in 2005.
“No matter what part of the country one lives in there is something unique about it. Those who live in Western North Carolina are particularly lucky to be in one of the most beautiful of areas. While the big landscapes of the Blue Ridge Mountains, the Blue Ridge Parkway and the majestic waterfalls are what the region is known for, the smaller details are what intrigue me – how slats are lined up on the side of a barn, a red tin roof meeting a barn side, the curve of a lake dock, log steps on trail – the possibilities are endless.”
